Cool menu! Good idea to use the darkness of being outside the spotlight to let the flat menu text be readable while preserving the style. If I had one suggestion, it would be to animate in the menu options a little bit faster.

I have made it faster now, since it was far too slow. But I haven't updated because I'm working on making the actual game attached to this. Starting with making the enemies actually aware of the player's existence...
